Valve put a new refund policy into effect yesterday that allows you to return Steam games and DLC. What we’ve been waiting for has arrived!
The most recent steam client update caught me by surprise. As I read through the notes, I had no idea this was coming. There is even a page on their site for “Steam Refunds“, check it out!
In short, there are some minor requirements like the 14-day return policy and the fact that you can’t have played the game for more than two hours, otherwise say bai bai to the refund. Yea, I can think of a few ill minded who already want to find a way to take advantage of this system.
Let’s be grateful and not forget this is a service from valve to us the gamers, it’s clearly been put in play after the plethora of complaints on how many games are outright broken, some boast false advertising – then you run the game and it’s nothing like the picture they painted of it – figure of speech. I’m quite sure we can find these things out well before two hours are up – that’s a great time frame I’d like to add.
Visit the steam refunds page to get all the information you need, on this great service extended to us. Just remember don’t try anything funny. If you do – well, they said it best “Refunds are designed to remove the risk from purchasing titles on Steam—not as a way to get free games. If it appears to us that you are abusing refunds, we may stop offering them to you.”
Liek ah bawss, seriously.
